My Name is Dawn Archer.
-I’m 6,1”
-I was born in England to Caribbean parents.
-I’ve been stared at my whole life for one reason or the other.
-I don’t like liver.
-Even though I’m an excellent swimmer, I have a fear of open water since watching the movie ‘ jaws’
-My womb is impervious to any form of modern birth control known to man.
I have 13 years as a hairstylist and 20 years experience in fashion as a stylist. With having applied all that I’ve learned on the floor and of course, having the experience of being a person with curly textured hair, I now realize it’s been a lifelong pursuit of the perfect haircut. I know from experience behind the chair that no matter what our cultural background, curly textured hair clients have a lot of similar issues with just texture differences. I am on a mission to create an inclusive environment for curly haired clients.

What makes me different?
My unique approach to cutting curly /textured hair is based on my education and lifelong experiences with getting my haircut (including black salons) and being disappointed, but not knowing what to ask for.
I realize now that even if I were to show most stylists a picture and explain technically what I would want them to do, they would still not be able to give me what I asked for. My intuitive approach is based on trial and error, problem-solving and looking at each client's hair to see what their hair WANTS to do and not what I want their hair to do. It’s about filling negative space and three dimensional design.
Hence my desire to share my tried and true techniques for an easy to style , livable, sexy, flirty head of curls.
